Good Food, Good People, & A Boat, What More Do You Need?

My friend Allison annually has a campout for her birthday as well as her brother Randy's. Needless to say it was a heck of a good time. Here are the pictures to prove it.

Yes wakeboarding in April - the water wasn't too bad

The Birthday Kids

Crawfish - yumm!

My weekend roomies - I'm a giant compared to them

Being able to go to the lake in April is definitely one of the perks of living in Texas.

The Bluebonnet State

As a 6th generation Texan I knew that our state flower was the bluebonnet but due to the fact that I was born and raised in the west Texas desert, I had not ever really experienced them. As much as I wanted to get a picture of me in the wildflowers, the odds are against me because I've planned on it for the last 2 weekends and things have come up to keep me from doing it. SO the picture from google will have to suffice. The wildflowers are gorgeous. I don't even know the names of all of them but there are bluebonnets and indian paintbrushes and lots of other gorgeous ones. They grow on the side of the highways and I often find myself drifting because I'm distracted by how amazing they are. I know have a greater understanding of the bluebonnet state.

The Girls in My LIfe

I thought it was about time that I share with y'all the girls in my life. These three are the wonderful girls I get to stay with every weekend. They are usually pretty excited to see me get there and even sadder when I have to leave, even if it's just for a few hours. It's nice to know that you are loved.

They just have to be in the same room as me.

You Must Be in Texas...

I was talking to my brother the other weekend and he asked me what my plans were. I replied that we were having a crawfish boil that evening. He replied in a Texas twang "A crawfish boil? You must be in Texas." It is true. I am in the heart of Texas and had my first crawfish ever. They are a lot of work to eat but pretty tasty. I'm pretty sure I ate a couple of pounds all by myself. I'm sad I didn't think to get any pictures - hopefully at the next one.
