Back From The Dead
I realize I haven't blogged in like half a year so here's me starting again. I got this email this morning from my school.
This is a message from the KatSafe Emergency communication system. University police have resolved a report of persons on campus carrying guns. Police have confirmed that the individuals involved were students engaged in a “nerf ball” game. There is no threat to the public. Repeat. This report has been resolved. There is no threat to students or the public. End of message.
They must be making nerf guns look a lot more realistic these days

Good Food, Good People, & A Boat, What More Do You Need?
My friend Allison annually has a campout for her birthday as well as her brother Randy's. Needless to say it was a heck of a good time. Here are the pictures to prove it.
Dinner around the campfire
Most awkward picture taken
The gang on the boat
Yes wakeboarding in April - the water wasn't too bad
The Birthday Kids
Crawfish - yumm!
My weekend roomies - I'm a giant compared to them
All the girls
Being able to go to the lake in April is definitely one of the perks of living in Texas.

The Bluebonnet State
As a 6th generation Texan I knew that our state flower was the bluebonnet but due to the fact that I was born and raised in the west Texas desert, I had not ever really experienced them. As much as I wanted to get a picture of me in the wildflowers, the odds are against me because I've planned on it for the last 2 weekends and things have come up to keep me from doing it. SO the picture from google will have to suffice. The wildflowers are gorgeous. I don't even know the names of all of them but there are bluebonnets and indian paintbrushes and lots of other gorgeous ones. They grow on the side of the highways and I often find myself drifting because I'm distracted by how amazing they are. I know have a greater understanding of the bluebonnet state.

The Girls in My LIfe
I thought it was about time that I share with y'all the girls in my life. These three are the wonderful girls I get to stay with every weekend. They are usually pretty excited to see me get there and even sadder when I have to leave, even if it's just for a few hours. It's nice to know that you are loved.

You Must Be in Texas...
I was talking to my brother the other weekend and he asked me what my plans were. I replied that we were having a crawfish boil that evening. He replied in a Texas twang "A crawfish boil? You must be in Texas." It is true. I am in the heart of Texas and had my first crawfish ever. They are a lot of work to eat but pretty tasty. I'm pretty sure I ate a couple of pounds all by myself. I'm sad I didn't think to get any pictures - hopefully at the next one.

It's Official
I feel like I officially live in Texas now. Yeah I know I was born and raised here but I mean the heart of Texas. Last Saturday I went skeet shooting for the first time. (No that is not me in the above picture but since I didn't get any pictures of me shooting I thought I would just use one of my friends.) Apparently I'm a natural. I hit 2 skeet, which doesn't seem like much but I guess is actually pretty good. I also threw skeet on my first try which I hear is quite difficult. So pretty much I'm amazing. I think it's the 6th generation Texan in me.

Hot Stuff
So a few weeks ago my singles ward had a Valentines Dance. The dress was semi-formal and so when my mom was visiting I asked if we could look for a dress. We found the dress in the first store we went to and found an awesome necklace to accessorize with. Plus I already had shoes to match. All we needed was a sweater. Sounds easy right? Wrong! We spent the rest of the day trying to find a sweater that looked appropriate with the dress and would match the necklace and shoes. Finally after miles of walking the mall and hours of trying on clothes (no exaggeration here at all) we found the yellow sweater I wore. Well I looked like dynamite that night as the picture shows & received several compliments on my entire outfit, especially the necklace. Thanks mom for putting in the time and effort for me to feel like a million bucks for one night!
